The UK Sun reported tonight that
Ringo Starr is to be knighted. He will be honored for his contributions in music and charity in this year's New Year's Honours. Starr got the word in a letter a few weeks ago. He is said to be overjoyed at the honor, which comes well after Paul McCartney was knighted in 1997.
