New HMC release of '66 Japan shows promises video upgrade

HMC's next release will be what they say is an upgrade of '66 Japan shows, reports Collector's Music Reviews. Already in great quality anyway, they say the new release, which will contain both a DVD and CD, has no subtitles or logos. The new material will be video of the support acts, which hasn't been out before. Most of the support acts are Japanese performers, but it includes the Drifters, who sing "Long Tall Sally."  The audio CD also includes the Beatles remembering that tour 28 years later in 1994.

The folks who brought you George Fest, the tribute to George Harrison, now will bring you Dylan Fest, a special tribute for Bob Dylan, May 23 and 24 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Among those participating will be Dhani Harrison. Also listed to perform are Emmylou Harris, Boz Scaggs, Ann Wilson, Charlie McCoy, Kurt Vile, Wynonna Judd & The Big Noise, Kesha, City & Colour, Moon Taxi, John Paul White, Charlie McCoy, Nikki Lane, Brendan Benson, Rayland Baxter, Holly Williams, Langhorne Slim, Eric Pulido of Midlake, Ruby Amanfu, Karen Elson, Danny Masterson, Bijou Phillips, The Whigs, Cory Chisel, Adriel Denae, Jonathan Tyler, Robert Ellis, Shelly Colvin, Tommy Emmanuel and, it is said, surprise guests.

We've seen prices on eBay for these "Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five" vinyl mixes going around $200 previously, but the price on this one for this McCartney vinyl is the highest yet -- $499 or best offer.
