George Martin 'Soundbreaking' series nominated for Emmy

Soundbreaking: Stories From the Cutting Edge of Recorded Musicthe last project of Sir George Martin, has been nominated for a News and Documentary Emmy Award for Outstanding Music and Sound, Higher Ground, the presenter and creator of the series, announced July 26. 

The superb eight-episode series featured more than 150 exclusive and original interviews with a huge assortment of musical innovators, artists and producers, including Paul McCartneyRingo StarrRoger WatersElton JohnJoni MitchellB.B. KingAnnie LennoxMark KnopflerTom PettyBonnie Raitt, Nile Rodgers, Brian EnoRosanne Cash, Don Was, Steven Van ZandtBen Harper and more, and included a wealth of rare footage. It debuted on PBS in November 2016. The series is available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
