Thanks to listing put up a little too early on Amazon.com, it was leaked today that two Lennon-Yoko Ono films, “Imagine” and “Gimme Some Truth: The Making of 'Imagine,'” (order at the link) will be apparently announced soon as a dual release on Blu-ray and DVD. The official announcement was supposed to take place next week but because of the premature announcement, odds are this listing will be taken down. The release date on the listing shows Oct. 5, though we suggest you don't put that on your calendars just yet since early Amazon listings have often been inaccurate.
According to the Amazon description, both films have been hand restored frame-by-frame from the original film reels into HD, and their soundtracks have been remixed in 5.1 surround sound, and remastered. "Imagine" is a collection of music videos from the album of the same name, while "Gimme Some Truth: The Making of Imagine" has extensive footage of the recording sessions for the album. The single disc set will include new exclusives and never-before-seen bonus content. This is the first time both films have been commercially available on Blu-ray.
Just a couple of days ago, it was announced that the "Imagine" film would be coming to theaters with bonus content. Tickets for the screenings at the few theaters signed up at this point to show it will be available at www.imaginefilmtickets.com.
