The White Album before The White Album
The Beatles (The White Album) and the upcoming release of the box set with all the demos and outtakes brings back the history of the album that itself was the only time that the Beatles recorded a full set of demos for an album. (Which will be on the new set.)
But the album was also leaked to WABC in New York, which played several of the tracks, including some unique versions. "Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da" had some talking at the beginnning. And "Blackbird" was quite different with some vocal and guitar differences.
We're looking forward to seeing which outtakes are on the set and whether any of the songs WABC played will be there. More significantly, there's only one outtake of "Blackbird" on the set (not counting the Esher version) and it'll be interesting to see which it is.
